Reading Horizons is where reading momentum begins. Their goal is to help all students read proficiently by the end of third grade by supporting educators with science based, tech-enabled foundational reading instruction. This rapidly growing education innovator is searching for a creative and passionate Marketing Communications Manager who will be responsible for the implementation of both the internal and external Reading Horizons communication strategy.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, an ideal candidate will be strategic, relationship oriented, and driven to execute creative and innovative communication programs. This marketing manager will help build brand strength, increase thought leadership in the field of foundational reading instruction, and drive attainment of long-term impact objectives including growing sales and customer advocacy.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Reading Horizons internal and external brand communication strategy and annual plan
- Create, execute, and monitor innovative branding and thought leadership campaigns that continue to elevate company credibility in the field of Reading Science
- Understand and develop the public voice of the brand including public relations and top of funnel marketing awareness programs
- Develop, launch, and nurture a national influencer program that supports the brand, retains the current base of loyal customers, and introduces solutions to a wider audience
- Build and develop a strong support team of contractors and team players
- Maintain and promote compelling and consistent branding and product copy
- Create style guides and brand voice outlines for all public relations, marketing, advertising and other vital departments
- Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises
- Lead direction, messaging, and approvals to inform a high-impact public relations strategy
- Build effective thought leadership and content programs to establish Reading Horizons as the leader in foundational reading instruction anchored in the science of reading
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated strategic-thinking skills with the ability to develop and execute annual B2B marketing communication plans
- Successfully developed messaging strategies across mediums
- Cross-functional project and campaign management expertise
- Excellent oral and written communication skills: ability to deliver complex messages in a simplified and engaging manner to various audiences
- Proficient use of marketing technology platforms for communication and measurement
- The ability, grit, and organization skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent work experience
- Capability to collaborate remotely
- Remote location, Salt Lake City area a plus
