Gifford Cat Shelter is looking for a fundraising and development leader to join their Board of Directors.
Do you love cats? Have non-profit fundraising experience? Would like to be a hands-on board member to help increase donations to the shelter?
Gifford Cat Shelter, the country’s oldest no kill and cageless animal shelter, is currently seeking candidates to serve on its board. Gifford has cared for and adopted out tens of thousands of cats since the early 1860’s. Their animal shelter is well regarded with a proud legacy, a strong future, and a philosophy of caring for each cat as if it were our own. With a dedicated staff and Board, the shelter relies on a community of passionate volunteers and board members to sustain its operations and be an active member of the animal welfare community.
The advancement part of Gifford’s governing body creates and leads sustainable fundraising and development programs that ensure their mission objectives are consistently fulfilled and that they can strategically plan for future needs and growth.
This is fantastic time to join the Gifford board, as their brand-new shelter is slated for a Spring 2024 opening. They are growing philanthropic support around the building, equipment, and furnishings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must love cats!
- Looking to volunteer your time
- Local to Greater Boston
- Experience with fundraising planning and execution for a non-profit organization
- Experience with annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and donor relations
- Experience in a senior leadership role highly desired
