Are you a commercial leader in education ready to drive high-growth for a rapidly expanding EdTech leader and help build their team?

BW Walch is a leading developer and publisher of middle and high school math curriculum and with one of the country’s fastest growing pre-K-8 math teacher training organizations. They seek a Chief Commercial Officer to join their team.

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Commercial Officer will shape, lead, and scale the economic engine of BW Walch, while maximizing growth opportunities to help achieve their ambitious goals and long-term vision. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished, goal-oriented, strategic thinker with successful experience in K-12 sales and marketing leadership. They will demonstrate a deep understanding of the education space, including customer insights knowledge and product development expertise, and play a pivotal role in driving the next stage of the company’s growth.

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead and implement commercial plan for Marketing, Sales, Product Development and Customer Experience to drive revenue growth and increase market share
  • Partner with CEO and senior leadership to develop the company’s 5-year strategic direction
  • Generate annual revenue model and develop competitive pricing tactics that incorporate the alignment of company goals, market conditions, and industry trends
  • Lead product innovation initiatives leveraging the company’s strengths and assets to meet market needs and maximize growth per product segment
  • Design and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and market penetration
  • Develop new and maintain current strong relationships with school districts and US states to drive sales and product adoption
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent by providing career development and performance management that sets people up for success and increases employee engagement
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to promote products and services
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation
  • Create systems and processes that support repeatable growth and optimize resources
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align goals and drive organizational success
  • Work closely with the CEO to attract outside investors to support growth and drive strategic initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a senior sales and marketing leader driving growth for a K-12 company
  • Ability to prospect and manage district/state-level relationships drawing on an established education network
  • Experience rapidly scaling revenues in a small growth-minded company
  • Proven track record as a key contributor to a close knit, capable team
  • Passion for education and experience with and affinity for math
  • Strong background in insight-led product innovation
  • Experience raising capital and access to a network of investors a strong plus
  • Ability to work remotely and manage a distributed team effectively – Northeast preferred
