Are you a Program Manager who is interested in helping families achieve stabilization and self-sufficiency?  

Catholic Charities Boston – one of the largest social service non-profit organizations in Massachusetts –  seeks a Family Support Program Manager to lead a team of Family Support Specialists in their Lowell office. Reporting to the Vice President of Family and Youth Services, the Program Manager is also responsible for program contract management, budget, and reporting to the funding agency, and programmatic oversight of community outreach and record keeping.

Major Responsibilities 

  • Hire, train, coach, and manage a team of 5-6 Family Support Specialists
  • Supervise case management and case load on a weekly basis
  • Ensure staff receives ongoing training each year to provide quality care for clients
  • Provide case management and counseling services to clients as needed
  • Oversee work performance, provide feedback to staff and suggestions for improvement when necessary; monitor progress and goals throughout the year; prepare annual performance appraisals for all direct reports
  • Meet regularly with the program team to discuss case management concerns and provide organizational updates
  • Work with Vice President on budget and contractual obligations
  • Prepare and deliver timely submissions of reports to the funding agency
  • Ensure staff expense and mileage reimbursement forms are submitted monthly with documentation of all expenditures; provide careful review for approval
  • Limited local travel to attend meetings and trainings; visit client families in their homes on occasion upon request

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 1+ years of team lead/management experience highly preferred
  • Experience in home-based counseling and case management services
  • Knowledge of working with program budgets and contracts
  • Experience working with the Department of Children and Families and with culturally and linguistically diverse populations
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and remote technology
  • Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation and insurance coverage
  • Available for some evening and weekend times as needed for on-call work
  • Fluency in Spanish, English, Khmer or Haitian Creole a plus
  • Master’s in Social Work, LCSW, or a Bachelor’s in Human Services preferred
