They seek a Senior Vice President for Programs to provide strategic leadership of their four core service areas to ensure excellent and effective delivery of services to clients throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
The Senior Vice President for Programs will manage and partner with leadership in each of the four core service areas to support ongoing program development and improvement as well as foster collaboration across the Agency. This role will also oversee Data and Community Impact and help launch an agency-wide volunteer initiative. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Vice President for Programs will play a pivotal role in ensuring the overall effectiveness of the Agency.
Major Responsibilities
- Provide program expertise to advance the strategic plan of the Agency
- Oversee core service areas including program development, services delivery, program evaluation, agency standards, quality assurance and monitoring contract utilization
- Create a culture of excellence by recruiting, mentoring, and leading a team of highly skilled, dedicated employees. Demonstrate thought leadership, listening, problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills, along with intellectual curiosity to seek continuous improvement and support a positive work environment
- Work with VPs and the Director of Community Impact to track service delivery and evaluate program effectiveness
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in approach to their staff and the clients they serve
- Monitor and guide divisional budget creation and management in collaboration with the CFO and finance team; establish a process to monitor, manage and report results monthly providing analysis of key fluctuations and drivers from budget and prior year, including a quarterly reforecast for the year
- Set clear performance goals and expectations; ensure ongoing performance feedback and annual performance evaluations are provided to team members
- In collaboration with the Vice President of Advancement and Senior Vice President of Government and Community Relations, build relationships with businesses, other non-profits, donors, volunteers, community members and elected officials in communities served
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 + years of management experience in human services in at least one of the core services Catholic Charities provides – Family/Youth Services, Basic Needs, Refugee/Immigrant Services, Adult Education/Workforce Development
- Proven skills in managing teams, budgets and effective program planning, implementation, and evaluation
- A strong understanding and commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities
- Superb interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, donors, volunteers and other business associates with compassion and respect
- Ability to organize, establish objectives and priorities and achieve goals
- Innovative approach and a willingness to reimagine well-established programs and processes
- Role is hybrid; must have ability to travel regionally (Greater Boston) 25-50% of time
- Relocation option
- Master’s degree in social work, non-profit management, public policy, or related field preferred
